The Drone zone is an Important part of Campus Party, filing a 7000 m2 hall were drone enthusiasts will find some of the latest trends in the field of drone technology: workshops, challenges and demonstrations, and of course all kinds of drones.

The drone zone will be the scene of the exciting European indoor FPV drone race sponsored by Kamera Express and hosted by FormulaFPV, the organisers of many international Drone racing Events. This championship will be held on a spectacular track and the breathtaking action of the pilots will be available to see live as a internet stream.

The Drone community is daily news all over the world. In the beginning of March in Dubai was the World Drone Prix. And later this year the World Drone Racing Championship will be held in Hawaii and live broadcasted on ESPN. The drone community is growing fast. Spectacle tracks are build worldwide and this competition is breathtaking to see live as well as on TV or internet stream. The pilots are great individuals, from the age of 13 to 56. About the FPV Drone race

The qualifications will be done on both Friday and Saturday. Pilots can choose their own date.

Qualification for the race will be done via a time trial. The fastest 32 qualification times will enter the final elimination stage of the race on Saturday. Qualification will consist of 3 x 3 laps, not including the first lap and the final lap. Timing will be done with a IR LED tag provided by FormulaFPV which needs to be installed on the quad.

The elimination race will be held between the 32 fastest qualifiers. There will be 4 pilots per heat. The race will be done using a double elimination system. This means in short that if you are eliminated, you will get a second chance in the losers section of the system and will still be able to reach the final. Once in the final 4 there will not be a second chance. The final is 1 race only.
